OEF Engineering Scholarships

The Oklahoma Engineering Foundation (OEF) aims to encourage students having the talent and commitment to succeed in an undergraduate engineering curriculum; for who the financial support and encouragement of a scholarship can make a difference. Scholarships are typically $1,000 one-year awards and must be used in an accredited engineering curriculum at one of the following schools: Oklahoma Christian University, Oklahoma State University, Oral Roberts University, University of Central Oklahoma, University of Oklahoma, or the University of Tulsa. Applicants must be Oklahoma residents* and U.S. citizens.

Often, students in the very top of the pool have numerous scholarship opportunities, while fully qualified students with great potential but slightly lower admissions factors are overlooked. Therefore, OEF will offer scholarships only to students who are NOT eligible to receive National Merit Scholarships or Oklahoma Regents Scholarships. Our policy is to award scholarships to students with an intense desire to become practicing engineers.

OEF annually awards a number of freshman scholarships to high school seniors who demonstrate a genuine interest in an engineering career. Freshman application qualifications are given below.

Selection of freshman scholarship recipients will be based on points awarded for:

  • GPA of 3.0 minimum (Required)
  • ACT Composite score between 24 - 29 (Required)
  • ACT Math Component score of 28 or above (Required)
  • extra curricular activities
  • essay and an interview
  • courses taken and credits earned for grades 10 through 12
  • technical and non-technical activities sponsored by the high school
  • special recognition, academic honors and special achievements
  • volunteer activities
  • employment and
  • potential to complete the engineering curriculum offered by the university.

Additionally, OEF freshman scholarship recipients qualify to apply for a continuation scholarship available from the foundation. Click here for non-freshman scholarship details.

*An Oklahoma high school graduating senior whom is a depended of a non-resident, stationed-in-state military parent is exempted from the Oklahoma residency requirement. However, he or she must attend one of the listed Oklahoma universities to obtain and retain an OEF scholarship.
